Grandpa Bear gave us this
This is a very small story.once upon a time there lived a Bear in the woods of taiga.the winter in taiga region is really horrible.Bear spread dry leaves and moss in his den and curled up in the corner. He cannot go out or get food in the snow.He slept and slept for a long time.Days went on and spring came.Sun rose over the Taiga and the snow started to melt.A gush of water came down melting the snow and the streams started gurgling.Bear awoke and crept out of his den wading through the water to the other side of the stream. He sat there thinking."Spring has come but I have nothing to eat."He was really hungry. All through the winter he did'nt have anything. He walked in search of food. But there was still snow on the ground. The trees were yet to bloom. His favourite berries or nuts will not appear for some time.

He walked a long way and then sat on a stump. He could feel something moving under it.He tried to pull the stump but could not as he was weak."Who is there?Come out."A small chipmunk came out.He was hibernating under the stump all through the winter."Why are you so angry Bear?""Because I am hungry. I haven't had anything to eat all through the winter.Have you got anything to eat?""Oh.That is the reason.I will come now."he said and quickly went into the small place under the stump. There he had a full stock of small nuts and sweet roots which he has stored before winter. He came back with some small sweet roots and nuts."Here.Eat it"Bear ate them and felt better. His temper got cooled down."Hmn..Thanks chipmunk.I am feeling better.Though you are small you have a big heart. And you are smart enough to keep something for lean period."So saying Bear patted chipmunk gently on his back. But his claws made dark stripes on the back of the chipmunk. The stripes did'nt go away.Ever since then all chipmunks have stripes down their back. When other animals ask him about it he says proudly,"That is because my great great grand dad did a favour to grandpa bear and he patted him.God allowed us to have it as a tocken of our greatness."
