The Bear and Fox

Once upon a time there were a fox and a bear. The bear had a barrel of honey in his house which he had put away for the winter. He kept it in the loft .

The cunning fox heard about it and wondered how she could get it.She went to the bears house.
"Brother bear can you help me?"she called out.
"What is your trouble sister fox?"asked the bear.
"My house is old and is falling to pieces.I have no fire there. Please let me stay in your house."
""Come in then,"said the kind bear.
They lay down to sleep. But the cunning fox started wagging her tail. Poor bear was soon awakened by the sound. Thinking that some one was tapping the door he shouted,"Who is there?"
The fox was too clever to reply "Somebody has come for me.There's a baby been born."
"Then you'd better go."
Fox went out not to see the baby, but up to the loft by the ladder outside to eat some honey.
After some time she came back.
"What did they called the baby?"asked the bear.
"Starter."
"Nice Name."
The next night also fox did the same wagging of tail when they laid down for sleep.
"Brother Bear ,they are calling me to see another baby."
"Then you go. I will sleep."said the bear.
This time the fox went up and ate almost half of honey.
She came back and when the bear wanted to know the name of the baby she told
"Half Way."
"Nice name."
The third night again the bear thought that the sound was of someone tapping.
"Another baby coming I think"
"All right,"said the bear,"but you hurry back.I am going to make pancakes for breakfast."
"I won't be long."
The fox ran straight up to the loft and finished the honey.
When she got back the bear was already up.
"Well, Sister Fox, what did they call the baby this time?"
"Scrapper."
"Best name."
The bear was busy frying pancakes when fox asked him:
"Where is the honey for pan cakes?"
"in the loft."
The bear climbed up into the loft and found the barrel was empty.
"Who ate the honey? It was you,Fox,no one else could have taken it."
"I never have seen your honey,"said the fox,"you ate it yourself and now blaming on me."
The poor bear thought and thought.....
"I know what we will do to find it out,"he said.
"We will lie down on our backs in the sun,and if either of us has been eating honey, the sun will melt it and it will come out through the skin."
And they lie down in the sun.The bear soon fell asleep, but the cunning fox was afraid to sleep. She watched and watched until honey spots started oozing through the skin of her belly.
She quickly brushed the drops off her belly and rubbed them on the Bear's belly.
"Hi, Brother Bear wake up! Look who has been eating honey!"
And there was nothing the poor bear could do about it!
